This is a painting of one of the 11 WWII watch towers (Tower 5) in Delaware and southern New Jersey seen from the opposite side of Gordon's Pond in Rehoboth Beach, DE. From these towers, soldiers monitored the coastline searching for approaching enemy ships or stealthy submarines.
